The "Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile" (UC) was founded in 1888 with the objective of being an institution that integrates academic excellence and training inspired by Christian doctrine. Despite social changes, the University has aspired to achieve a solid education, focused in science, art, humanities, and Catholic morals. Seeking, therefore, that all those who have studied and are studying in it are not only scientifically and technically qualified, but also open to the different dimensions of the human, to the social and personal responsibilities posed by the integral development of a society .

The Abertis-Chile Chair is situated at the School of Engineering, which is recognized as one of the best academic and research institutions in the region. He has more than 120 years preparing future professionals to work as applied scientists, as innovators, entrepreneurs or as outstanding professionals in the broad field of engineering and thus become positive agents of change and social mobility for the country.
